The umbrella association Universities Canada welcomed the development, saying in a statement it \u201cwill streamline the process for visiting academics, enabling the brightest minds from around the world to contribute to Canada\u2019s research and innovation community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement from Universities Canada adds, \u201cCanada\u2019s universities also welcome the inclusion of leading researchers in the strategy\u2019s dedicated service channel for processing arrivals to Canada.
