2010 immigration data shows Canadian immigration at a record high.<\/span><\/h1>\n

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney says Canada welcomed a record-high number of immigrant newcomers last year.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kenney released a report today that indicates in 2010, Canada admitted 280,636 new permanent residents.<\/p>\n

That’s the highest number reported in more than 50 years and six per cent more than the government had planned to admit.\u00a0 The high number of immigrants allowed in last year has sharply reduced backlogs in applications among skilled workers.<\/p>\n

Kenney says this will reduce wait times for other applicants and help meet labour market needs.2010?????????????????<\/p>\n

El ministro de Inmigraci\u00f3n, Jason Kenney dice que Canad\u00e1 dio la bienvenida a un n\u00famero r\u00e9cord de inmigrantes reci\u00e9n llegados el a\u00f1o pasado. Kenney public\u00f3 hoy un informe que indica que en 2010, Canad\u00e1 reconoci\u00f3 280,636 nuevos residentes permanentes.<\/p>\n

Ese es el n\u00famero m\u00e1s alto reportado en m\u00e1s de 50 a\u00f1os y seis por ciento m\u00e1s que el gobierno hab\u00eda planeado a admitir. El elevado n\u00famero de inmigrantes permitidos en el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o se ha reducido considerablemente los atrasos en las solicitudes entre los trabajadores calificados.<\/p>\n

Kenney dice que esto reducir\u00e1 los tiempos de espera para los solicitantes de otros y ayudar a satisfacer las necesidades del mercado laboral.
