Labour shortage to remain key challenge in construction industry<\/span><\/h1>\n

As per the Construction Sector Council of Canada’s\u00a0 recent labour market forecast for 2011-2019 approximately 320,000 workers will be required to meet new construction, retirement and mortality pressures.<\/p>\n

Half of those requirements could be met with 163,000 new Canadian entrants, leaving 157,000 workers for the industry to \u201cbring in from outside of Canada\u2019s construction market\u201d to meet demand.<\/strong><\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0 executive director of Construction Sector Council of Canada, George Gritziotis,\u00a0 added further –<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at our expansion and aging demographics, we are going to be back where we were in 2008, struggling to find the workforce we need to deliver work,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMobility and demographics will continue to dominate,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRecruitment, and not just apprentices, but also temporary foreign workers<\/strong>, women and Aboriginal workers and better utilizations of current workforce and its mentoring capacity are needed as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Escasez de trabajo para permanecer desaf\u00edo clave en la industria de la construcci\u00f3n<\/span><\/h1>\n

Seg\u00fan el Sector de la Construcci\u00f3n del Consejo, de reciente Canad\u00e1, el pron\u00f3stico de mercado de trabajo para 2011-2019 a unos 320.000 trabajadores se ver\u00e1n obligados a cumplir con la nueva construcci\u00f3n, la jubilaci\u00f3n y las presiones de mortalidad.<\/p>\n

La mitad de esos requisitos podr\u00edan satisfacerse con 163.000 nuevos canadienses, dejando 157.000 trabajadores de la industria de “traer de fuera del mercado de la construcci\u00f3n de Canad\u00e1” para satisfacer la demanda. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“La captaci\u00f3n, y no s\u00f3lo a los aprendices, sino tambi\u00e9n a los trabajadores extranjeros temporales , las mujeres y los trabajadores abor\u00edgenes y mejores usos de la fuerza laboral actual y su capacidad de tutor\u00eda tambi\u00e9n se necesitan.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
