Booming Immigration Led To Record Growth In Canada Population Last Year
According to Statistics Canada, immigration into the country contributed almost entirely to the record-breaking expansion in the population of Canada last year.
The population of the nation grew dramatically in the year that ended on January 1, 2023, surpassing 39.6 million for the first time in Canadian history, according to the federal government’s statistical and demographic services office.
Canada experienced a growth rate of 2.7% with that surge in its population, a rate not seen since the Baby Boom years, or since 1957.
However, this time, romantic activities taking place in the country’s bedrooms are not the cause of the population rise in Canada. Record levels of immigration to Canada last year accelerated the rate of population increase.
