Canada Employment Rate Rebounds To Hit 62% As It Adds 64,000 Jobs
In contrast to the previous month, September saw an increase in Canada’s employment rate because to the creation of 64,000 new jobs.
The federal government’s statistical and demographic services department, Statistics Canada, reports in its Labour Force Survey, September 2023, that the employment rate—defined as the percentage of people aged 15 and older who are employed—rose 0.1 percentage points to 62% in September.
That reversed a drop in employment of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
The core-aged population, or those most likely to hold down occupations, as defined by Statistics Canada, experienced the largest changes in employment in September.
