Canada Needs To Do More To Help Immigrants Make As Much As Canadians, Says Fraser Institute
According to the Fraser Institute think tank, there is a persistent wage disparity and Canada needs to do more to assist immigrants in earning as much as workers who were born in Canada.
According to the Fraser Institute’s report, Enhancing Labour Market Outcomes of Immigrants to Canada, studies indicate that immigrants have lower employment rates and employment compensation than their Canadian-born counterparts who have comparable levels of formal education and training.
According to Jock Finlayson and Steven Globerman of the Fraser Institute, “the Canadian government’s plan to increase levels of permanent immigration is predicated on promoting overall economic growth by increasing the supply of labour.”
“The success of the immigrant cohorts admitted to Canada’s job market will have a significant impact on whether and how well this goal is fulfilled.
