Another occupation under the Federal Skilled Worker Occupation list – Financial and Investment Analyst – has now capped out. 

There are 48 more occupations on the list with an open quota. The total applications received so far is 8,101 against a quota cap of 25,000. For married applicants, either the self or spouse needs to qualify in one of the 48 occupations listed.

Current processing time for getting Educational assessment is close to 20-25 working days.

If you have already booked your IELTS before end of November or even in early December, you may still have an opportunity to be in the current assessment system.

The benefit of applying under current skilled worker category is that you will not need an offer letter from a Canadian employer. Once the Express Entry program starts, you will have to get an offer from a Canadian employer before applying. So after January 2015, the competition will be tougher.

Those applicants who take action have an advantageous opportunity.
